Therapy

A Note About Therapy

My goal as a therapist is to help people be the best versions of themselves, feeling fulfilled in their jobs, relationships, and personal life. I want to provide you with the best therapy possible to relieve symptoms and assist you in achieving the goals that you set for yourself. Change ultimately happens outside of the office. Utilizing the tools, techniques, and resources gained in therapy consistently outside of the office will ensure that you get the most out of your therapy sessions.

EMDR

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative psychotherapy approach that has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma. EMDR is a set of standardized protocols that incorporates elements from many different treatment approaches. To date, EMDR therapy has helped millions of people of all ages relieve many types of psychological stress. (From EMDRIA)

If you feel like this treatment is something you're interested in, please feel free to contact me for more information or visit EMDRIA.org.

Session Structure

Typical sessions last between 20-60 minutes. Frequency of sessions depends on your needs and severity of symptoms. You may invite others into session with you, such as support persons, teachers, partners, friends, and family.

Sessions are by appointment only. Keep in mind that after school appointments between 3PM-5 PM are the most requested times. If you need to cancel your session, please do so within 24 hours of your scheduled time. Not doing so may result in a late cancellation or no-show fee.

If you will be late to your session, please call and inform your therapist. Sessions begun late will still need to end at the appointed time. If your therapist does not receive a call by 7 minutes after your appointment begin time, they will consider you a no-show and the session will need to be rescheduled.
